What Is Your Tale?
This Austin Company Helped Me Record My Mother’s Life Story

By Madeline Hollern, Austin Monthly
To me, she’s always just been Mom—the one who dutifully made my meals from infancy through graduation, lugged furniture and hung art during my dozen-plus residential moves across Texas, supported my lofty dream to become a magazine editor, and held my hand through layoffs, breakups, and the sudden death of friends.

Who We Are
Staci Lammering lost her father in December 2013. The following Christmas, her husband, Bryan Ray, gave her family an unforgettable gift: an interview with her mother, capturing her life story, from her earliest memory to the present moment. It was a natural fit—Bryan, a record producer with a fully operational recording studio, knew there was no better way to preserve someone's legacy than by recording their story in their own words, in their own voice.
As Staci listened to the interview, she realized just how precious it was—a treasure trove of memories, captured in the voice and mannerisms of the woman who raised her. She would’ve given anything to have her father’s life story recorded, to truly know the man he was beyond the memories she held.
Inspired, Bryan began interviewing his own parents, cousins, and friends. With each interview, both he and Staci recognized how invaluable this gift truly is—preserving the stories and voices of loved ones for future generations—and how much others deserve this same opportunity to cherish and pass down their family's history.
